Aging Gracefully~ Excellent concept!

The suggestions in this gallery are intended to help you become more aware of your spiritual self. Any activity that makes you feel more alive, more connected to others and to nature, less isolated, more comfortable with change, is beneficial. It will enhance your physical and mental health. It will help you accept the fact of your aging. It will help you to age gracefully.

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BREATH
Many cultures identify breath with spirit, seeing the breath cycle as the movement of spirit in the physical body. Simply minding the breath is a way of expanding consciousness beyond the ego, of experiencing transcendence.

CONNECT WITH NATURE
You can do this by walking or sitting in a natural setting; a city park will do just fine. Allow yourself to slow down, drop your usual routines, and just absorb the influence of the place.

SPEND TIME WITH YOUR LOVED ONES
Make a list of people in your life in whose company you feel more alive, happy, and optimistic. Make an effort to spend more time with them. Our spiritual selves resonate with others, and that connection is healing.

REMEMBER THE LITTLE THINGS
Bring flowers into your home and enjoy their beauty

SOOTHE YOUR SOUL WITH SOUND
Listen to music that you find inspirational and uplifting.

SEEK OUT BEAUTY
Admire a work of art that raises your spirits: a painting, sculpture, or work of architecture.

MAKE AMENDS
Reach out and try to resume connection with someone from whom you are estranged; practice forgiveness.

DO SERVICE WORK
Give some of your time and energy to help others. The possibilities are endless but do not include just writing a check to charity.

GROWING OLD GRACEFULLY is a statement that made a noise like church bells in my ears one day when I was about 29, on the edge of 30, and when I was realizing that the number was only getting bigger and aging was following close behind. I also recognized that looking youthful was only gonna hang around for so long before my physical skin started hangin' around (getting older basically is what I am saying here). Growing older isn't the "oh so bad" thing, for me, it was the physical way of aging that I wanted to slow down.

I figured out that I needed to change my attitude, my perception, and my heart in order to be successful at this "Growing old gracefully" thing.
**I needed to look at my eating habits and decide what was serving my body and what was breaking it down.
**I needed to look at my physical body and notice the subtle changes and redesign my workouts.
**I realized I was needing to shift from a "ME", "SELF", "TAKE" approach to a "YOU", "OTHERS", and "GIVE" type of living.
**I saw how FORGIVENESS was also a major step in this growing older gracefully process. Holding onto grudges, resentment and anger rapidly speeds up the aging race. Letting go of past disappointments is about the most refreshing experience you will have in this life time. Try it.

I am sure there are many other steps to list, but for me these were the first most important ones to take. Consider what your steps would be and challenge yourself to accomplish one by one until you feel as though you are looking out of a new set of eyes.
Many many blessings to all and live long so that you may teach some truth in life to those coming up behind us. We are all TEACHERS, certified or not!!!!
Love Sunny

Motivation & TRUTH

CHANGE BEGINS WITH CHOICE
by Jim Rohn

Any day we wish; we can discipline ourselves to change it all. Any day we wish; we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge. Any day we wish; we can start a new activity. Any day we wish; we can start the process of life change. We can do it immediately, or next week, or next month, or next year.

We can also do nothing. We can pretend rather than perform. And if the idea of having to change ourselves makes us uncomfortable, we can remain as we are. We can choose rest over labor, entertainment over education, delusion over truth, and doubt over confidence. The choices are ours to make. But while we curse the effect, we continue to nourish the cause. As Shakespeare uniquely observed, "The fault is not in the stars, but in ourselves." We created our circumstances by our past choices. We have both the ability and the responsibility to make better choices beginning today. Those who are in search of the good life do not need more answers or more time to think things over to reach better conclusions. They need the truth. They need the whole truth. And they need nothing but the truth.

Everything you want in life is within your reach. And getting your every want is just a matter of taking charge

Healthy Hydration, Healthy Planet, Healthy choices

FIRST: Quitting Soda

I really HATE the Soda mrkt. There are so many reasons to look at Soda and run for your life!!!!! This item can not be put into your shopping cart, poured from the soda fountain at the gas station convenience store, ordered from the fast food spot or bought at the vending machines on schools campus.
**Look at the ingredients on the nutrition label: HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS & COLORS, MORE SUGAR, MORE SUGAR AND MORE SUGAR.
Soda is also on the "poison" grid with Dentists, Natural Health practitioners, Doctors, Weight Loss facilities, Personal Trainers and Pediatrics. Again, there is NOTHING good about Soda. It's a very addicting chemical filled beverage, contributes to Nationwide Obesity in children and adults, rotting teeth, causes glycemic index to rise, and there is more to list, but I hope you are getting the picture. Then you have the "DIET" soda's that people order because they are thinking "less sugar", when really they just substituted an artificial sweetener which in turn is just worse than regular sodas. None of it is right, it's just WRONG!!!!!! and should be ILLEGAL! (other beverages like: Sobe, Arizona Icetea, gatorade, powerade, capri sun, vitamin water etc., are all full of
sugars, artificial "everythings", HFCS, zero nutrients, pasturization (which kills anything good in order to keep shelf life) and are all stored in plastics with BPA chemicals or aluminum cans).

SECOND: More WATER

Water is by far the first and best choice when it comes to hydration.
Facts: the world is 70% water, our bodies are 70% water, and our cells are 70% water. We need to consume 70% of our daily liquid as WATER. It's sad to say, but there is probably about 70% of the population that might really HATE drinking water. We are all so accustomed to mentally accepting things "as good" if it is sweet, so if you are that person then I know you really dislike drinking glasses of water.

There are so many benefits that come with drinking water like: flushing toxins from your body, helping out your kidney and liver, aiding in healthy looking and youthful skin, keeping your cells vibrant and functioning well, prevents migraines/headaches (your brain needs water too, becoming dehydrated will cause the onset of stress in the brain) and helps keep our body in a alkaline state instead of a high acidic level. Some people love bubbly or carbonated beverages so they will get a carbonated water instead of soda :) .
The United States is well known for it's massive choices available with each product. There is not just one choice in Juice, sodas or even WATER. But instead there is about 10 different options with 5-6 different companies under 2-3 gigantic mother corporations. Become a POWER CONSUMER, someone who is not going to be dupped by money hungry Corporations with motives delivered to us through advertising and marketing ploys and have zero concern for our well being. Become the SMART shopper and consumer with everything you spend your money on to feed yourself and your children.

THIRD: Environmental Causes

Trees for the Future and eliminating Plastic bottle production. We are all looking for ways to be part of a "small carbon footprint" in the world today. We are all understanding that over the years of "Mass Production", we now are experiencing the consequences in our environment. Enormous sheets of forests are being plowed down every day so that more and more developments can be produced so that more and more money can be made. Well, you and I are the ones who can start to make a difference. It may not be in our lifetime that we will suffer, but more likely our children and grandchildren that will have to live with the poorest quality of air to breathe. Trees are a major part of our environment. They actually clean the air of carbondioxide and pollution, actually give off oxygen, produce food and homes to animals (and some food for humans too), help enrich the soils of the earth and provide beauty and art for our eyes to see.

The Plastic bottle production scene is a mess. We are now understanding that there is a huge problem that exists with plastic pollution. It's just about everywhere, in the waters, the land, the streets and we need to start doing something about this. One solution is using a "re-usable" water bottle that does not contain BPA's. These chemicals are being found in the ocean and peoples bodies. We have to start being wiser about being a consumer, just because it is available, doesn't mean it is the best thing for us or our planet. Think of it like this, if it isn't right for your body and mind then it isn't right for the planet you live on either.

We've all become accustomed to convenience, instant gratification, and habits that just no longer serve us, but the GREAT thing is, is that if you wish to start living WELL, caring about the planet we live on and helping others then I want to introduce you to a company that is taking GIANT steps forward and actually cares about YOUR health & wellness, the issues with our Environment and the livelihood of our financial wellness. http://www.yoli.com CARES!!
